We just added support for capturing waveforms (ECG, etc) from Criticare nGenuity 8100 monitors.

Requirements:

  1. This, like all other waveform capture features require the Advanced Anesthesia Plan.

  2. This feature is still in beta so for now you have to ask to have this feature enabled by customer service: [email protected]

The physical cable connection is exactly the same as the other Criticare connection.

Push in the grey knob on the bottom right of the monitor and navigate to the PRINT menu. Change the serial settings at the bottom as follows:

  • Serial Format: CUSP

  • Baudrate: 38400

Then simply select Criticare CUSP when selecting monitor type:

You should see the Waveforms button appear on the blue bar:

Which will take you to the Streaming Waveforms page where you can take snapshots to add to your report:

One caveat if you want to switch back:

Once it starts sending the new format, the Criticare monitor will keep sending the new message format until it has been turned off and back on again. So if you switch back to the other non-CUSP Criticare connection without restarting the monitor, you may see some odd behavior. If you want to revert to the non-waveform version, simply set the serial format back to CSV and restart the monitor, and it will be work as normal.
