Steps to enable CO2 if disabled:

1. Press the "SETUP" key on the PPM3.

2. Scroll the control knob to Parameters, press the knob.

3. Press on the highlighted "ETCO2 Enabled," scroll to "Yes," and press the knob.

4. Press the "Main Screen" key to apply the changes.

Now, to save it as the default setting:

1. Press the "SETUP" key on the PPM3.

2. Navigate to "Administrator", then "System".

3. Scroll the know to set password to: 49, 48, 46

4. Now select "Save Department Defaults" and confirm.

Important note: Doing this will also save all the current monitor settings as the default values for whenever a new patient is admitted, so before doing it you should also confirm that other settings (such as the NIBP initial inflation pressure and all alarm limits) are set to values that you would want to have whenever a new patient is admitted.
