When your Xchart is linked to a CareStack account it works like this:

Inside CareStack, you'll need their Clinical Cases feature which allows you to link various appointments other resources into a "Case."

  1. Open a patient.

  2. Click the Cases item in the menu on the left

  3. Select View Case Details on the case you want.

  4. Select the Appointments tab.

  5. Find the appointment for the surgery day and hover over Launch Xchart link.

  6. Select Xchart Surgery Details

  7. You'll be taken through a handoff process that will import and update anything Xchart needs from this case. And then drop you directly into an Xchart Anesthesia Record with the following items created and/or updated:

    1. Patient Name/DOB

    2. Appointment

    3. Provider name/info

    4. Your user account, and it will sign you into Xchart automatically.

When an appointment that has been linked in this way is signed/finalized in Xchart, we will automatically post the PDF file back to CareStack and it will show up in both the "documents" tab for that clinical case, and in the documents tab for that patient.

Members added to your Xchart account through CareStack

  • With the integration with CareStack you will not need to add members manually to your Xchart account. Once a member enters Xchart through CareStack the member will automatically be created within Xchart.

Locations added to your Xchart account through CareStack

  • This will work the same as members, with the location information that is input into the case with CareStack once you "launch Xchart" with that specific case it will automatically be added to your account with Xchart.
