Using Different Vitals Monitors During the Same Case (i.e. when moving to recovery)

How to disconnect patient from surgical room vitals monitor and reconnect in recovery room.

Once you have finished your surgical procedure and have started recovery you may want to move your patient from the surgical room to a recovery room. Xchart makes this simple. Here's how:

Step #1: Click the "disconnect" button in the upper right corner.

Step #2: Select "disconnect temporarily"


Step #3: Move the patient to the recovery room and hook them back up to the vitals monitor that is in your recovery room. It does not have to be the same monitor or the same type as before.

Step #4: Go into the patients chart and again select "Connect Vitals Monitor"


The same screen will pop of which monitor you are wanting to connect to, so even if it is a different monitor than the procedure room has, that is ok, click which one you are using to get connected again in the recovery room.
