What you'll need

  1. The Xlink adapter kit from Xchart. Email: [email protected] to get one

  2. Mindray VS8 or VS9 monitor

  3. An Xchart account

The settings you'll need to change on the monitor

  1. Tap the upper left corner and make sure that the corner is set to "Continous Monitoring"

  2. Go to "Main Menu"

    1. Maintenance

    2. Enter password is MIN888

    3. Use >> symbols at the top to find Network Setup tab.

    4. Select Network Type from tabs on left

      1. Set "Monitor" to LAN1 IP

    5. Select LAN1 IP from the tabs on the left and enter the following settings exactly (you can ignore any other settings):

      1. Turn "on" Use The Following Address

      2. IP Address: 192.168.0.5

      3. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

      4. Gateway: 192.168.0.1

    6. Select Transfer Setup from tabs on left

      1. Set Send Data option at very top to HL7

      2. Server Address: 192.168.0.7

      3. Port: 5000

      4. Send Data: "ON"

      5. If your account has the waveforms feature enable the "Send Waveforms" switch.

      6. Data Interval: 10 Sec

  3. Hit the "X" to close the menu

  4. Restart the monitor.

Connecting from within Xchart.com

  1. Click Connect Vitals Monitor button

  2. Select Mindray HL7

  3. Click Show Connection Selector button

  4. If you are unsure what to select, remove and re-insert the USB cable from your computer. Select the item that appears when the USB cable is connected.
