When you get to this part of trying to connect any monitor, you can figure out exactly which item to select as follows:

1. Physically remove and re-insert the cable from your computer with this list open:
2. The item that appears in this list when you plug it in, is the one to select.

If you see one appear, you're done. No need to install a driver.

If you do not see anything change in this list when you plug it back then you need to install a driver for that computer to be able to use that cable. See below the image for instructions.

Using a Mac?

See our instructions for Mac instead.

On Windows:

Visit our Downloads page and download the "Prolific Driver for Windows"

Download and double click the file downloaded. You may get warnings from Windows, these are safe to ignore.

It should look something like this. Just click "Next" to install.

Once that's completed, try connecting your monitor again. Now there should be a new option to select from that device list.

If you don't see immediately, unplug the USB cable from your computer again, and plug it in again. It may take a up to 5 seconds the first time you plug it back in again, so be patient.

If you're still not seeing it, try restarting your computer and trying it one more time.
