Xchart believes in and supports education. Therefore, we offer access to our serivce free of charge to schools and anesthesia training programs.
The challenge with many schools in particular is that they often place very specific requirements on vendors regarding security protocols and compliance measures. These stipulations can range from intensive questionnaires to extensive audits, which can be both time-consuming and costly for vendors, particularly when our service is being offered at no cost.
To address this challenge, Xchart has chosen to invert the traditional model of vendor compliance. Rather than responding to individualized and often exhaustive security assessments for each institution, we proactively provide a comprehensive disclosure of our security policies and procedures upfront. This approach empowers educational institutions to assess our compliance with their standards on their own terms.
We provide these via the following mechanisms:
Our public "Trust Dashboard" which shows current status of automated checks and links to our policies.
Our "Security Report." This report summarizes nearly 300 controls we have in place. This report is provided upon request.
While not strictly compliance related we also maintain a public "Status/Uptime Page" showing a transparent view of the last 90 days of uptime tracking as well as serving as the communication page for any outages, etc.
By making our security information transparent and readily available, we alleviate the administrative burden on both sides. Schools and programs can access this information at their convenience, review it according to their internal compliance requirements, and decide if Xchart meets their security needs without the back-and-forth of traditional vendor vetting processes.
This inversion of the traditional security compliance process is not only more efficient but also fosters a relationship of trust and openness. It allows educational institutions to make informed decisions quickly, ensuring they can utilize our service without delay.
Moreover, this model reflects our commitment to supporting education. By removing barriers and streamlining the process, we help educational institutions focus on what truly matters—educating future professionals. Xchart’s initiative is designed to set a precedent in the industry, advocating for a more straightforward, transparent approach to vendor compliance and security in the educational sector.
Our hope is that this will encourage other companies to consider similar approaches, reducing the overall burden on educational institutions and allowing them to more easily access valuable resources. As more vendors adopt this transparent and proactive method, we anticipate a significant shift in how educational vendor relationships are managed, ultimately benefiting the educational ecosystem as a whole.
