To enter pre-operative information please make sure you have the patient already scheduled on the day you will be doing the sedation, even if the pre-operative appointment is a few days or weeks before the sedation case that it okay.
Or if you leave the appointment as "proposed" you can go into the chart ahead of time and enter in any pre-op information that will save for when the sedation case is scheduled for.

How to utilize Xchart for your pre-op appointments step by step instructions:
Login to your account at Xchart.com
From the calendar on the dashboard select the patient you would like to enter the pre-operative information for.
Select "open anesthesia record"- this will drop you into the patients chart.
In the blue bar on the left you can utilize the top sections for your pre-op information- "settings" and "candidate evaluation." All information input in Xchart on pre-op day will be saved in the case and show up when you open the chart again for actual sedation day.
5. If you like to take pre-operative vitals you can add this information in a couple areas of Xchart.
Under "physical assessment" scroll to the bottom and there is a "other assessment notes" free form text box you can place vitals readings here from the pre-op appointment.
Or the "record event" button at the top of the screen will time stamp and date the event. Pre-op vitals readings can be added here as well. These "events" can always be viewed under your timeline tab to see the time and date the event happened.
6. Once you have all the information you need from the patient for the pre-operative appointment you can simply go back out to the dashboard by selecting the open case manager button on the upper left corner of your screen.
NOTE: you can go into the chart and input information as many times as you need prior to the patient coming in for their sedation appointment.
