  1. Create the case in the case manager: make sure to select "locals" when asked what level of sedation you will be providing. If you need a refresher on how to create a case you can view that here.

  2. Procedure Day Preparation

    • Find the patient on the Calendar and open to the patient’s "Case Summary" page.

    • Click "Open Anesthesia Record".

  3. Set Case Parameters

    • Under the "Case Settings" tab, specify if the procedure requires:

      • Continuous vitals tracking.

      • Utilization of an airway.

  4. Fill Out the Chart

    • Manually enter vital readings under the "Vitals" tab on the blue sidebar:

      • Click "+Add a Vitals Measurement".

      • Enter the vital reading values and select "Save".

      • Each entry will be time-stamped and dated.

      • To add additional readings, repeat the process by selecting "+Add a Vitals Measurement".

  5. Track Drug Usage

    • Navigate to the "Drugs" tab to record and adjust:

      • N2O or O2 amounts if used during the procedure.

      • Local anesthetic usage, with automatic toxicity calculations based on the patient’s BMI.

  6. Finalize the Chart

    • Once the procedure is complete, review the chart for accuracy.

    • When everything is correct, the provider can sign the chart to generate a finalized PDF for a locals-only case.

Important Note: If you choose to enable continuous vitals tracking during a local anesthetic case, you must either manually enter vital readings at each interval or connect to a vitals monitor for automatic readings. Please be aware that once this option is selected, it cannot be reversed.
