Confirm Settings on Zoe Medical PPM3 and Connecting with Xchart

It should be set this way from factory, but here's how you can confirm.

  1. Turn it on.

  2. Click "setup" button

  3. Turn blue wheel to highlight "Administrator" push button to select.

  4. Select "Communications"

  5. Use knob to enter the following codes in this order then select OK. 49, 48, 46

  6. Make sure the communication option is set to "Serial Net" please note, there is a similarly named other option, so please be sure it says "Serial Net".

  7. Select "OK" to make sure the setting is applied, now turn the monitor off and back on again to finish applying this change.

If you need the necessary cables to enable automatic vitals with Xchart, you can request them by emailing [email protected].

Once you receive the cable, connect the ethernet end to the IOIO port on the back of your PPM3 monitor, and plug the USB-C or USB end into your computer or desktop.

    TO TEST THE CONNECTION:

  1. Login to your dashboard at Xchart.com OR in the web browser go to xchart.com/test (this will take you straight to step 13)

2. Select the settings wheel in the upper right corner.

  1. Select "test monitor connection"

  2. You'll get a pop-up reminding you this is a fake case and no data will be saved. You can select the "I understand, let me at it!" button

  3. Once in the fake chart you can test the connection from either of the 2 "connect vitals monitor" buttons. One will ALWAYS be displayed at the top of the screen for you to easily access, but it will also be under the monitor set up page.

  4. Select the monitor you are trying to connect with Xchart.

  5. Select "show connection selector"

  6. Select the correct connection. A good hint to know if your cable is being displayed in this box is by unplugging it from the computer you are working on. If an option in the box disappears and then reappears once plugged back in, that is the option you want to select.

NOTE: If you DO NOT have anything appear in the connection selector box you may need to download a driver onto your computer. This process can be done by following these steps, it's usually the prolific driver: https://help.xchart.com/en/articles/9189747-install-prolific-driver-windows

  7. Select "use this connection"

  8. Once back to the patients chart it should now have the blue bar displayed across the screen. This bar is a good indicator letting you know you are connected to a vitals monitor and vitals are coming in automatically. If you do not have a blue bar across the top of the chart you are NOT connected to a monitor and live vitals are NOT coming in automatically.
