NOTE: Since you're already paying us and we're already billing you, we leave that alone. You will keep your existing subscription and keep paying us just like before.
Reach out to your contact with CareStack and let them know you would like to utilize the integration with Xchart. Carestack needs to know you are our existing customer so you don't get billed for Xchart twice.
Once you are all set up on the CareStack side, you can simply go to the "Apps" page from your Xchart dashboard, click on CareStack and "install" the CareStack app. This section will ask you for the two pieces of information that CareStack will give you:
- The Account Key
- The Account NumberOnce this has been done, you'll be able to launch Xchart from within CareStack
You can choose to disable the ability to enter cases directly within Xchart- we recommend doing this so cases are not accidentally entered in Xchart. If cases are entered directly in Xchart they will not transfer back to CareStack. If you would like this button removed to "enter a new case" within Xchart please email [email protected] and we will disable this for you.
A few clarifications:
Your existing Xchart records won’t be lost or deleted.
However, existing patient records won’t automatically link.
For example, if you already have a patient named John Doe in Xchart, opening John Doe from CareStack will likely create a new, linked version of that patient in Xchart.Xchart has a duplicate detection tool that uses name and date of birth to help identify potential duplicates.
But for CareStack and Xchart patient records to be automatically linked, the patient in Xchart must already have a CareStack ID stored in our system. Without that ID, we can’t be sure it’s the same patient.User accounts can sometimes be linked during the handoff from CareStack.
If someone with an existing Xchart user account opens Xchart from CareStack, we’ll try to detect a possible match. If we think we’ve found one, we’ll prompt the user to log in and confirm the link between the CareStack user and the existing Xchart account.
