Many providers either want to, or are required to, enter an ECG Rhythm along with their other vital signs on their anesthesia records.

How to add it

  1. Go to the "Monitor Setup" page

  2. Click "Add items to track"

  3. Select "ECG Rhythm"

Making it as automatic as possible

At Xchart we're trying our best to make all the vitals recording as automatic as possible. In this regard ECG rhythm is a problem because it's not a value that we can just get from a connected vitals monitor.

This is because ECG Rhythm is an interpretation of the waveform so how can we make that automatic?

So here's what we came up with to solve the problem:

It stays the same until you change it.

So if you select that you want to track ECG on the "Monitor Setup" page. The very first checkpoint will be incomplete after you hook up a monitor because it doesn't have an ECG:

So you will have have to scroll down and save the rhythm for the first checkpoint:

From this point on, future checkpoints will assume NSR until you change it and they won't be incomplete.

If you you go change it to ST at the 9:38 checkpoint, it will stay that way until it's changed again:

Adding ECG to all cases

If you want to always select ECG you can update your case presets to always select it:
