If you prefer written instructions, continue under the video.

Note if you have previously been using the old Xchart Desktop App:
Please note that with this appraoch you should no longer use the downloaded desktop app. Instead, when using the Allink box or Xlink, just open Chrome and go to Xchart.com to sign in. You can completely uninstall the Xchart desktop app from Windows / Mac.

First, you'll need ONE of either of the following cables, a Xlink OR an Allink box (made by Edan). Please contact [email protected] if you need one.

Set up Edan monitor as follows:

  1. Menu

  2. Maintenance

  3. User Maintain

  4. Password is (all upper case): ABC

  5. Network Maintain

  6. For Server IP enter this address: 202.114.4.120

  7. Select Network Type: "Wired"

  8. Click Config next to network type to enter "Wired Setup" screen.

    1. Set Mode to: "Static" or "Manual" (the available label varies by model)

    2. Enter one of the following IPs addresses:

      1. most Allinks and Xlinks should be: 202.114.4.119

      2. if that doesn't work, there were a few sent out as 202.114.4.118

  9. Newer models will also ask for MASK and GW, set them as follows.

    1. MASK: 255.255.255.0

    2. GW: 202.114.4.1

Older model should look like this:

Newer ones should look like this:

Updating Monitor Security Settings

This is only required if you have a "Security" button at the very bottom of the "User Maintain" menu.

Scroll to the bottom of that screen, because if it exists it will be the very last button:

Setting the Security Settings as follows:

  1. Firewall: Off

  2. HL7: On

  3. HL7 Encryption: Off

Restart the monitor to apply the settings.

Technical note: the "Server IP" can actually be any IP but if you set it to the same thing as the Wired Setup one it causes problems. Because people were getting this wrong so frequently we explicitly tell people to set it to something else.
