Video Walkthrough (step-by-step written instructions also available below):

The relevant settings can be set as follows:

  1. Main Menu

  2. Maintenance

  3. User Maintenance

  4. password is: 888888

  5. Network Setup

    1. Confirm that "Select CMS" is set to "Off"

  6. Monitor Network Setup

    1. Address Type: "Manual"

    2. IP Address: 192.168.0.201

    3. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    4. Gateway: 192.168.0.1

    5. Click "Ok" to apply settings

  7. Restart the monitor to make sure settings are applied.

The "Monitor Network Setup" screen should look like this:

How to test the connection on Xchart

  1. Login to your dashboard at Xchart.com

  2. Select the settings wheel in the upper right corner. (Or you can go to xchart.com/test. This URL will take you to a fake case to test the connection only)

  3. Select "test monitor connection"

  4. You'll get a pop-up reminding you this is a fake case and no data will be saved. You can select the "I understand, let me at it!" button

  5. Once in the fake chart you can test the connection from either of the 2 "connect vitals monitor" buttons. One will ALWAYS be displayed at the top of the screen for you to easily access, but it will also be under the monitor set up page.

  6. Select the monitor you are trying to connect with Xchart. NOTE: If you are using an Xlink 1.0 (small black box) to connect your monitor you will need to select the Mindray HL7 option.

  7. Select "show connection selector"

  8. Select the correct connection. A good hint to know if your cable is being displayed in this box is by unplugging it from the computer you are working on. If an option in the box disappears and then reappears once plugged back in, that is the option you want to select.

NOTE: If you DO NOT have anything appear in the connection selector box you may need to download a driver onto your computer. This process can be done by following these steps, it's usually the prolific driver: https://help.xchart.com/en/articles/9189747-install-prolific-driver-windows

  9. Select "use this connection"

  10. Once back to the patients chart it should now have the blue bar displayed across the screen. This bar is a good indicator letting you know you are connected to a vitals monitor and vitals are coming in automatically. If you do not have a blue bar across the top of the chart you are NOT connected to a monitor and live vitals are NOT coming in automatically.
