Navigate the menus as follows:

  1. Main Menu

  2. Maintenance

  3. User Maintenance

  4. Password: MIN888

  5. Use ">>" sign in upper right to get to the "Network Setup" tab.

  6. Select the left tab marked "LAN1 IP" make it say exactly this:

    1. Use the Following Address:

    2. IP Address: 192.168.0.5

    3. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    4. Gateway: 192.168.0.1

  7. Select HL7 Configuration tab on the left. Set it to:

    1. Server Address: 192.168.0.7

    2. Port: 5000

    3. Data Interval: 10 seconds

    4. Enable the "Send Data" switch

    5. If your account has the waveforms feature enable the "Send Waveforms" switch.

  8. Hit the "X" to close the menu

  9. Restart the monitor.

  10. Login to your dashboard at Xchart.com

  11. Select the settings wheel in the upper right corner.

  12. Select "test monitor connection"

  13. You'll get a pop-up reminding you this is a fake case and no data will be saved. You can select the "I understand, let me at it!" button

  14. Once in the fake chart you can test the connection from either of the 2 "connect vitals monitor" buttons. One will ALWAYS be displayed at the top of the screen for you to easily access, but it will also be under the monitor set up page.

  15. Select the monitor you are monitor you are trying to connect with Xchart. NOTE: If you are using an Xlink 1.0 (small black box) to connect your monitor you will need to select the Mindray HL7 option.

  16. Select "show connection selector"

  17. Select the correct connection. A good hint to know if your cable is being displayed in this box is by unplugging it from the computer you are working on. If an option in the box disappears and then reappears once plugged back in, that is the option you want to select.

NOTE: If you DO NOT have anything appear in the connection selector box you may need to download a driver onto your computer. This process can be done by following these steps, it's usually the prolific driver: https://help.xchart.com/en/articles/9189747-install-prolific-driver-windows

  18. Select "use this connection"

  19. Once back to the patients chart it should now have the blue bar displayed across the screen. This bar is a good indicator letting you know you are connected to a vitals monitor and vitals are coming in automatically. If you do not have a blue bar across the top of the chart you are NOT connected to a monitor and live vitals are NOT coming in automatically.
